Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has pledged to respect decisions of the Nigerian judiciary in the ,matter involving his son in – law, Uche Nwosu and Senator Hope Uzodimma in the battle for the APC governorship ticket in the State.
Okorocha, who gave the assurance in a statement signed by his spokesman, Sam Onwuemodo in Owerri, however insisted that only his son in-law can win the elections for APC.
Senator Hope Uzodinma and Chief Uche Nwosu are currently battling over who flies the gubernatorial ticket of APC in Imo State before a federal high court in Abuja.
However, a loyalist of Nwosu was alleged to have petitioned the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, accusing the trial judge, Justice Othaman Musa of bias, an action that made him adjourn the matter indefinitely yesterday.
Okorocha said Imo people especially APC members in the State will continue to respect the Judiciary and its decisions even as he called on party members in the State to remain united and continue to work-hard for the Party saying “with the kind of Candidates other parties in the State have produced, APC will win convincingly in twenty-five (25), out of the twenty-seven (27) Local Governments in the State, in 2019”.
The Governor said, “if the plan of the few Abuja based politicians who claimed to have joined the APC is to stop the party from winning the State in 2019 and delivering President Muhammadu Buhari, by creating confusion in the party, they have failed because APC will retain Imo in 2019 through the ballot box. Those who do not believe in the ballot box but only believes in carrying ballot boxes and writing fictitious election results in a hotel do not have the capacity to win Imo for APC.”
Further, the Governor who is seeking to represent Imo West at the Senate said “It is only Uche Nwosu who can win Imo for APC in 2019. Any other person making such claim outside the Rescue Mission family is a liar. So, 2019 will be easier to win looking at the candidates of other parties.”
