Barely few hours after reinstated Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere resumed office yesterday, the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has said they have appealed the Judgement as well as a motion for stay of execution.
Madumere yesterday resumed activities in his office, months after he allegedly abandoned his office, owing to political differences between him and Governor Okorocha.
Governor Okorocha made the disclosure in a statement signed by his spokesman, Sam Onwuemodo in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
Madumere while speaking with newsmen who laid siege to know if he would resume office said “Governor Rochas Okorocha is my boss and will always remain the boss as long as I’m the Deputy Governor of Imo State; I don’t have grudges against anybody and those who orchestrated the impeachment against me, I have forgiven you, I am a Child of God”.
Okorocha described Madumere as a confused man who does not know what he wants, saying “the fact remains that Prince Madumere is confused. He does not know what he wants. He signed the statement as Deputy Governor and at the same time parading himself as Governorship Aspirant on the platform of APC and of course, about 48hours to the party’s primary for the governorship”.
Speaking on Madumere’s claims that he is for justice, Okorocha said “at what point did he become an apostle of Justice and over what? He was Chief of Staff and later Deputy Governor, which means from May 2011 to the time he was impeached about two months ago, he was the second in command in the government. And he is still struggling to remain as Deputy Governor and also aspiring to be Governor at the same time. Men like Prince Madumere are bitter or ugly case-studies”.
Okorocha lampooned Madumere for appreciating Dr Ikedi Ohakim and chief Emeka Ihedioha, saying their support were targeted at him, and the All Progressive Congress (APC), while he rained insults on him, saying “Madumere heavily insulted the man who took him up from the floor where he was to the level he is today”.
