The Imo State Deputy Governor Prince Eze Madumere yesterday at the child dedication ceremony of Mr Ikenna Onuoha, the Chief Press Secretary to Sir Jude Ejiogu also another APC governorship hopeful, declared that nobody would stop him from contesting for the governorship seat of Imo State come 2019.
He said his trials and tribulations were as a result of his determination to stand for truth and justice and for insisting that equity must be observed.
He thanked the people of Imo State who have remained steadfast in his support since the beginning of his face-off with his boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and assured them that he would never fail them but would always stand up for them at all times.
The Deputy Governor Madumere have been at loggerheads with the Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha for his insistence to contest for the position of governor against the desires of Okorocha. The state governor wants to succeed himself with his family member, his son-in-law who is also his Chief of Staff and wants Prince Eze Madumere to contest for the Owerri Zone Senatorial seat which the deputy governor rejected and joined a faction of the party in the state that are opposed to Okorocha's succession plot.
Recently, against court orders, the Imo State House of Assembly hurriedly carried out a kangaroo impeachment against Madumere but the plan to install a new deputy governor was halted by the court as the Chief Judge of the state and all other judges boycotted the occasion.
